Sommaire
The Evaluación de Rendimiento Académico (ERA) has been administered annually since 2007. From 2012 onwards, it has been a censal assessment administered by the Dirección General de Curriculo y Evaluación to grades 1 to 9 (ISCED 1 and 2) students in general and technical education programmes in public and private schools. In 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 and onwards it has also been administered to a sample of students with the goal of informing educational authorities about the progress achieved at a national level. The ERA is a low-stake assessment. It is a written assessment, administered face-to-face and delivered through paper-pencil tests. All test-takers are presented with different cognitive booklets based in complex matrix sampling, which are aligned with the national curriculum.
The ERA serves the following purposes:

- sub-national level monitoring of learning outcomes
- monitoring education quality levels
- planning education policy reforms
