The sample is drawn using a two stage sampling design.

In the first stage, a random sample of schools is selected. The test booklets from those schools are returned to the Ministry of Education for its analysis and subsequent result reporting.

In the second stage, all students attending schools not included in the random sample are selected to take the tests.The test booklets from those schools are processed within the schools. After entering the students answers in the system and once the required procedure has been completed, the school gets the corresponding academic performance report.
